Dr. Richard Bruno, discusses his area of focus, approach to patient care, and how podiatric medicine is evolving.
My name is Richard Bruno, and I'm currently working with Sentara in their foot and ankle specialist division. I like to think that I can handle whatever our patients need. That's what's most important, whether they're coming in for nail care, diabetic care or reconstruction or trauma. It's just to be there for anything they need and provide the best care possible for them. So I was raised by my grand parents in Philadelphia and growing up, my grandmother always wanted me to be a physician. So I've always had a passion for being a physician and keeping my promise to her. And so I work every day to try to make her proud. So I feel it's very important to have a warm and comforting environment. I see every patient that comes through our doors as family. I would want to treat them just, like is if they were my grandmother, because that's what she taught me to be. And so I really hope overall, people see that when they come into this office, their family, and that we're gonna treat them right. So when I moved down to this region, Virginia Beach and Suffolk, I trained with this and terror, foot and ankle specialists. And it was such a welcoming environment. It was such excellent training. I really enjoyed being here. There's always a lot of great research out there, everything from the new technologies with wound healing as well. Thio Reconstruction and total ankle implants. It's never involving profession. And so it's important that we always stay up to date on this information and and we bring it to our patients and have honest and upfront conversations on how things can always change at the drop of a dime and do our best to take care of them.
