MIP Patient Guide Brochure

Minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy (MIP) is a surgery performed to remove stones from the kidney by passing a nephroscope through a small (<0.7 cm) incision made in a patient’s side/back.

Compared to standard percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), MIP is performed with a smaller incision, smaller instruments, and is less invasive to the kidney.
