Mount Sinai researchers are investigating the potential to create better surgical outcomes for patients with acoustic neuromas by using the most powerful imaging technology available. The 7-Tesla MRI gives physicians the ability to visualize the relationship of the tumor to cochlear and cranial nerves, thus allowing them to preserve hearing with better facial outcomes for these patients.
