Anthony Miniaci, M.D., a world-renown orthopedic surgeon, joins Baptist Health as the deputy chief medical executive of Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Miniaci specializes in sports medicine and shoulder and knee surgery. Dr. Miniaci is fluent in English and Italian.

Bringing his vast research in shoulder reconstruction surgery to Baptist Health, Dr. Miniaci’s patented, industry-leading technology offers patients a less invasive shoulder surgery using hardware uniquely designed for the complex shoulder joint.
Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Miniaci worked for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for nearly 20 years, serving as a surgeon at their Center for Sports Health in Cleveland, OH, and Sports Medicine Clinic in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Miniaci also served as an orthopedic professor at the University of Toronto and Case Western Reserve University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Miniaci treated high-profile Olympic and professional athletes including players from the National Hockey League, the National Football League and Major League Baseball. He served as the head team physician for the Cleveland Browns and an orthopedic consultant to the Toronto Blue Jays. As a physician for Baptist Health, he looks forward to continuing to care for athletes using his passion for thorough communication, care coordination and advanced technology.
Among many other awards and honors, Dr. Miniaci recently received the 2022 Alumni of Distinction Award, a peer-nominated honor given to distinguished alumni from his medical school alma mater, the University of Western Ontario, a large research university.
