Complex Higher Risk Indicated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)

Complex Higher Risk Indicated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
Originally Broadcast: June 30, 2022 | 12:00 PM EDT

Sentara Master Series presents a LIVE High Risk Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (CHIP)

A growing number of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) find themselves in need of stent PCI or coronary artery bypass graft surgery, but have been told they are too high-risk for complications that may occur during these procedures. The need to provide invasive percutaneous solutions to these patients with complex coronary anatomy, severe co-morbidities, and/or poor hemodynamics have created  this treatment option, known as CHIP.

Dr. Matthew Summers and Dr. Paul Lavigne will be using an advanced catheter-based procedure called Complex Higher Risk Indicated Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) or CHIP to open blocked coronary arteries in a high-risk patient.

Join us at noon on Thursday June 30th to watch this specialized procedure at Sentara Heart Hospital.
