Harshit S Khara, MD
Harshit S. Khara, MD, is a gastroenterologist based at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Dr. Khara earned his medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital in India. He moved to the United States to complete his residency at Drexel University College of Medicine Saint Peter's University Hospital. He completed three fellowships: in transplant hepatology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, in gastroenterology at Yale University School of Medicine Norwalk Hospital and in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Geisinger. Dr. Khara is the Director of Endoscopic and Translational Research and a faculty member at the Center for Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy at Geisinger, participating in training and mentoring advanced endoscopy and general GI fellows. He is involved in multi-center clinical research projects and quality improvement projects. His clinical and research interests include interventional endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, Barrett’s esophagus, endoscopic submucosal dissection and bariatric interventional endoscopy. Dr Khara is certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a committee member for the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
