Joerg Herrmann, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist. He attended Medical School in Germany and obtained specialty training in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He completed the clinician investigator track and joined the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases in 2011.

Dr. Herrmann founded and currently serves as the director of the cardio-oncology clinic at Mayo Clinic Rochester. This clinic focuses on the care of cancer patients with heart and vascular problems. He has been recognized in this area as an expert, last but not least as the editor of one of the first textbooks on this topic. Dr. Herrmann also has a long experience with coronary artery disease, from both a research and clinical standpoint. This includes the development of narrowing as well as the alteration of the function of arteries. He is actively involved in outpatient and inpatient practice related to this very topic including the evaluation and management of patients with microvascular angina. He currently serves as the director for research of the ischemic heart disease program at Mayo.
